Child injured in I-65 crash Sunday

Indiana State police report a 5-year-old boy was airlifted after a crash on Interstate 65 in Jasper County Sunday afternoon.

Police said a pick-up was southbound when the truck's rear tire blew out. The driver, 26-year-old Terry Youngblood Junior, of Lebanon, Tenn., lost control. The vehicle rolled and ended up in a ditch.

Five-year-old Bernabe Pena, was not in a child restraint and was partially ejected from the vehicle.

The boy was taken to the National Guard Armory in Remington by ambulance and was later airlifted an Illinois hospital with unknown injuries.

His 7-year-old sister, Bianca Pena, was taken to Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer. Her injuries were non-life threatening.

Thirty-year-old Nallely J. Pinancho was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Youngblood was cited for a child restraint violation.
