Several road closures went into effect last Wednesday (June1). Motorists in Iroquois, Ford, Kankakee and Livingston counties could be effected with detours.
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced the closings and detours may be in place thru the summer.
The replacement of a box culvert on Illinois 116, three miles west of Illinois 47 is one project. Another is north of Cabery on Route 115 where two bridges are being replaced with box culverts. Another box culvert is being replaced on Route 115, about four miles south of U.S. Route 24.
There are also multiple structure replacements on Illinois 54, from Gibson City to Melvin in Ford County.
Drivers are urged to follow the posted detour routes.
