CSX railroad crews plan to replace ties to improve crossings in northern parts of Vermilion County. The work tentatively will take place from around June 20 through July 1.

Similar to the announcement made by CSX in Iroquois County, crossings will be closed while the work is being done, and several roads may be closed at the same time.

Area crossings getting repairs include:

Hoopeston: Thompson Avenue, Main Street, Penn Street, Lincoln Street, Maple Street and Lovers' Lane.

Rossville: Hill Top Road, County Road 3650, Henderson Street and Benton Road.

Alvin: 1700 East Road, Mann's Chapel Road, Gilbert Street, Railroad Avenue, Shake Rag Road, Chicago Avenue, Spud Avenue and County Road 2550.

Danville: Newell Road.
