Testimony wrapped up (Friday) in Iroquois County in the attempted murder trial of a former Watseka man...accused of opening gunfire at a residence nest door to where he once lived.
A 23-year-old woman was hit by gunfire three times. Kylie Schwartz pointed a finger at Jerry Pintelon (pin-tuh-lon) as the person who shot her.
Schwartz was among the State witnesses who testified at the trial in Watseka.
Another key witness was Joe Seibring, who lived across the street from the defendant. Seibring told the court he was sitting on his porch, watching Pintelon open fire at the house next door. Seibring said “there’s no doubt the shooter was Jerry Pintelon.
However, defense attorney Ron Boyer says the wrong man was identified.
Charles against Pintelon include attempted murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm.
Circuit Judge James Kinzer is hearing the case. Closing arguments are expected Tuesday.
