A veteran member of the Watseka Unit #9 school district is expected to be named the new superintendent. James Bunting will be named to the position at the Board of Education meeting Monday, May 16th.
A press release from the district office (Monday) stated Bunting will replace Dr. Kenny Lee who resigned March 4. Lee accepted a superintendents position in Grundy County. He'll serve as superintendnet of Minooka Community High School District #111.
Bunting will begin his superintendent job July 1.
Bunting joined Unit #9 in August of 1995 as a math teacher at Glenn Raymond School. In July of 2000, he was appointed principal of Glenn Raymond School. He held that position until 2011 when he was moved to assume the role of principal at Watseka Community High School.
