A Wilmington man is facing charges for the robbery of a Kankakee bank Tuesday afternoon. 38-year-old Dustin Chouinard was arrested by Kankakee police for robbing the Midland States Bank branch on South Schuyler Avenue.
The Daily-Journal reports no one was injured. Choinard was in custody shortly after the robbery occurred about 4 pm. The charge is aggravated robbery. Police reported he did have a gun.
Chouinard is expected to appear in Circuit Court today (Wednesday).
Champaign man dead after second shooting in one day --
Champaign’s second shooting in the same day (Tuesday) left one person dead. The victim is identified as 38-year-old Dondre Moore. The Champaign man was pronounced dead at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said an autopsy is planned later today.
Police responded to shots fired at 8:45 pm (Tues) and found Moore with life-threatening injuries in the 400 block of West Vine Street.
No arrests have yet been made, and there was no information on a possible suspect.
This shooting took place less than eight hours after a shooting on the north side of Wesley Park near North Third Street and Burr Oak Court. In that incident, a man was hospitalized with what police called non-life-threatening injuries.
