Cooler weather is approaching but a Heat Advisory has been issued for the immediate listening-area today (Thursday).

The National Weather Service says the highest heat index readings this afternoon will likely be around 105 degrees. {The heat index is how hot it feels when you factor the heat with the humidity}.

July heat will dominate the area with temperatures rising into the low and possibly mid 90s.

Health officials advise people to take precautions. Avoid long stays in the heat, plenty of water and check on neighbors.
