Watseka Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is taking some time to celebrate a milestone. A successful program continues to give to the community. And it happens because of a dedicated staff.
Originally named Hawthorne Lodge, the 123 bed facility in Watseka was built by Mr. John and Mrs. Jo Rogers who owned and constructed all of the Hawthorne Lodges at that time. The facility opened to serving seniors on February 16, 1976.
In this day of frequent career changes and uncertainty, there has been a welcome constant in the lives of area seniors and families.
Sarah McDaniels and Faye Clark have been devoted to seniors for longer than just their 38 years with Watseka Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. Faye says it's all about family, "Rewarding, homey, and like a second family."
Dedicated team members provide many years of healthcare experience, several employees that have been with the family-facility for over 20 years. Business Office Manager Kris Schroeder has been helping seniors navigate the financial piece of their health care needs for over 24 years.
"Our staff's dedication to our community seniors is admirable and we are excited to celebrate this milestone with them," shared Paul Capell, Administrator.
In recognition of the 40th Anniversary, the facility is holding special events for the residents and employees. Each employee also received a 40th anniversary t-shirt provided by Petersen HealthCare.
Watseka Rehabilitation & Health Care Center has been serving area seniors for 40 years with dedicated employees and features the Pathways Rehabilitation Program as well as a wide variety of services.
