Vermilion County Now 2nd-Highest COVID Infection Rate in Illinois

Vermilion County’s COVID infection rate is now the second highest in the state, behind only Calhoun County. The Vermilion County Health Department reported Friday, the county had a rate of 1,050 new cases per 100,000 people over the past seven days. Officials believe it sends a warning heading into Christmas and New Year’s. The local officials say the latest numbers could be a fallout from Thanksgiving. >>>>

In addition, Vermilion County’s number of residents hospitalized with COVID has been hovering in the 40s, after being much lower prior to Thanksgiving.
