Bradley’s Lighted Christmas Parade welcomed visitors Friday evening. And the Village of Manteno welcomed Santa Claus Saturday with several holiday activities.
Floats and marching bands, emergency vehicles and walking units and businesses were part of the36th Annual Parade in Bradley. Santa Claus had also special guests too. Savanah Berry and Jaden Grabow served as Miss Merry Christmas and Master Jack Frost. The Village of Bradley’s local elected officials were the parade’s grand marshals. Mayor Mike Watson called the parade effort a “huge success.”
Manteno Mayor Tim Nugent said the Christmas atmosphere (Sat) was tremendous. He said many organizations contributed to the community fun and he invited all visitors to shop Manteno and take in the holiday atmosphere.
Kankakee Community College was the setting for Sunday’s Jingle Bell Run. The event benefits the Arthritis Foundation. Over $20,000 was raised for charity. Sunday’s event was the 31st such fundraiser.
