Halloween Horror events this weekend

Haunted houses, trunk-or-treat and trick-or-treat events are on the weekend calendar in several area communities. Safety experts remind parents to make sure their children are properly dressed and following safety guidelines.  Activities and events in passed along to the 94.1 WGFA newsroom… >

Chebanse Haunted House at the Civic Center. Village officials extend an invite for $10 per person. Concessions are offered. Children 13 and under must be with an adult. The haunted house has been open all month Fridays and Saturdays 7 – 10 pm.

Clifton Trick-or-Treat Drive Thru is Saturday 1 to 3 p.m. at Arcadia Care Clifton. There will be a drive thru trick-or-treat event.
In Momence --.Bordertown Hauntings in historic downtown Momence is Saturday Noon ‘til 4 pm. Trick or treating and kids contests are featured. For more information, call 815-472-3861 or go to mainstreetmomence.com.

A trick-or-treat event Friday at 5 pm is at the Northfield Square Mall in Bourbonnais.

Manteno hosts a Trunk-or-Treat event Friday at Heritage Park. It’s set for 5 -7 pm. Games are prizes are offered.

From 6:30 to 8:30 pm Friday at the Kankakee Valley Park District Rec Center the KVPD is hosting a kids Halloween extravaganza. There will be food, drink, a costume contest, trick-or-treating and an appearance by magician Mr. Magic.

A Movies in the Park event is Friday at 7 pm in Grant Park. The Community Park on Dixie Highway is showing the movie “The Addams Family” (PG-13). The free family event includes popcorn and hotdogs. Bring blankets and chairs. Pop and water will be available for purchase.

From 4 to 5:30 p.m., the Momence Park District will host a trunk-or-treat at Island Park.  For more information, call 815-472-2670.
Monster Mash & Costume Party.

From 6 to 7:30 p.m., Exploration Station in Bourbonnais is hosting a party for ages 2 to 8. Make a trick-or-treat bag, decorate a fake pumpkin, play games and trick-or-treat through the museum. Registration required 24 hours before the program and is $14; call 815-933-9905 or go to btpd.org.

Herscher Hot Chocolate Trick-or-Treat

Between 4 and 6:30 pm Saturday at the Herscher Legion Community Center free cups of hot cocoa will be available. The Legion will be passing out candy and invites any person, business or organization to pass out candy, as well. For more information, call 815-426-9867.
