Watseka Swing Choir Invitational this weekend

The 39th Annual Watseka Show Choir Invitational is set for Friday and Saturday at Watseka Community High School. Nine junior high teams and 14 high school groups perform on stage. Awards will be presented Saturday at 9:15 pm.

The junior high competition begins at 5 pm Friday.  The high school groups hit the stage beginning at 8:45 Saturday morning. 

Among the local junior-high schools competing:  the Cornjerker Connection" from Hoopeston, PBL's "Unlimited Attitude, Manteno High's "Grand Paws," and three teams from Danville...The "Radiant Reds," "Redcoats," and "Exhibition."  

The "GRS Singers" from Watseka's Glenn Raymond School perform in Exhibition.

Saturday's high school local performances include:  "New Direction" from Hoopeston, "Class Act" from Herscher, "Magic" from Manteno High School, and "Powerhouse" from Peotone.

The Watseka "Sensations" are in EDxhibition at 4:30 pm Saturday.

Awars are presented at 9:30 pm.  Weekend passes are available.  Tickets are still available.
