Iroquois County Mayoral races popular for April 4 Election

Contested races fill area ballots for the upcoming April 4th Consolidated Election. Voters head to the polls next Tuesday with good reason to get involved and let their voices be heard.

The Consolidated Election Illinois should draw local interest, yet often-times, the voter turnout is not where it should be. This election is where several local matters should find people interested enuf to cast a ballot.

Early Voting is underway. And County Clerk’s offices offer special early voting hour this Saturday – April 1st – from 8:30 am ‘til 12 Noon. Regular voting hours are next Tuesday from 6 am ‘til 7 pm.

Seven mayor’s races in Iroquois County should get people out to vote, including the four-person contest in Watseka. There’s also mayor contests in Buckley, Cissna Park, Iroquois, Loda, Milford and Sheldon.

City/Village Clerk races are on ballots in Clifton and in Loda. There’s also village trustee contests.

At the Township level of government --- Supervisor and Highway Commissioner races are popular.

Danforth Township has a 2-person race for Supervisor.
Road Commissioner contests are offered to voters in Ashkum Chebanse, Martinton, Pigeon Grove and Sheldon Townships. And Township trustee positions are also contested.

School Board seats are also contested in Iroquois West District #10 and Crescent –Iroquois Elementary District #249.
