One person \was killed and and another seriously hurt in a single-car crash in southeastern Champaign County. Sheriff’s Police report it happened early Monday.

Illinois State Police say 55-year-old Randy Leeman of Paris (IL)was northbound on Illinois Route 49 when his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve at Champaign County 200N road.

The car left the road shortly after 8:45 am., then hit a ditch before going airborne and overturning several times. The driver was flown to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries. State Police say a 22-year-old male passenger was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

State Police are continuing to investigate the tragedy along with the Champaign County Coroner’s Office.
