After all the dismal talk about a negative bottom line, the Iroquois County budget for FY2018 is now looking more positive. Finance leaders are looking at a surplus of about $8,000 dollars.

A $40,000 deficit that appeared in the proposed numbers now is erased with payment from the Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) in the amount of $148,000. The payment is for 9-1-1 service.
