One man is dead after a police-action shooting early Tuesday in Indiana following a chase through multiple counties.

It started when Peter J. Doffin Jr, 36 of Lafayette, IN allegedly dragged his daughter from a Warren County home and took off around 4:30 a.m.

Police would then locate him in Tippecanoe County but the chase would continue before coming to an end near the White and Pulaski county lines when Doffin’s vehicle went into a ditch. Police report Doffin came out of the vehicle displaying a weapon and made threatening gestures towards the officers who then shot and killed him.

The daughter was uninjured. The investigation is ongoing.
