Supervisor of Assessment Chief and Zoning Administrator Bob Yergler informing his Iroquois County Board it may want to pay attention to growing interest in solar farms.
Yergler said there’s been some interest, perhaps because maybe a subsidy in place to fire up property owners. No saying, right now, Yergler adds whether any companies will come knocking on our door. But it’s something to be aware of.
County Board Chairman John Shure said (Tuesday) our zoning does not currently address solar panels, but it’s something that’ll need to be looked at by the planning and zoning committees.
