Three men robbed the Peotone Verizon Wireless store Wednesday afternoon at gunpoint, battering two employees before fleeing with an undisclosed number of cellphones.
Police said a man, armed with a gun, entered the store on S. Governors Highway, off Illinois Route 50 at 1:30 pm. Two more men wearing hoodies and baseball caps followed him, according to the Daily-Journal.
According to police, the men kicked two employees after forcing them to the ground and tying them up. Both employees sustained minor injuries.
Police said the robbery appears to be connected to a suspicious person report from Tuesday night, when someone knocked on the doors after the store closed.
This is the second time the Peotone Verizon store has been robbed in the past four months.
