Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb visited Lowell (IN) Friday to get a major Interstate 65 expansion project underway. The groundbreaking event was for the Northwest Indiana Expansion Project.
The plan is to improve the traffic flow and capacity to the interstate in the state’s northwest region.
The 13-mile stretch of I-65 runs from State Road 2 to U.S. 30, spanning from Newton to Lake counties.
Construction is scheduled to begin June 1. It should be completed by the fall of 2018.
