An accidental fire left at least five people homeless in Bourbonnais Monday. The fire at Tri-Star Estates chased occupants from the structure, according to Bourbonnais Fire Protection Chief Ed St. Louis.

The fire, he said, was contained to a bedroom but smoke and water damage was sustained throughout. The American Red Cross stepped in to assist two adults and three children. Damage estimates were not available.
