A wet week is the forecast, but Tuesday’s weather conditions are expected to cooperate for the Consolidated Election. The NWS forecast calls for a cloudy day Tuesday, with a light chance of morning rain and highs around 57 degrees.

Voter turn-out is expected to be low in many parts of Illinois. That, despite so many contested races on the ballots in Iroquois, Kankakee and Vermilion Counties.

The polls open at 6 o’clock Tuesday morning (April 4th, 2017) and will remain open until 7 pm.

Iroquois County voters have seven mayoral races on the ballots. Five mayors contests are on Kankakee County ballots.

Several mayoral, aldermanic/trustee seats are challenged. Township supervisor and trustee seats and Highway Commissioner positions are challenged. Voters will be filling school board seats – including some on the Danville Area Community College Board, in the Rossville-Alvin and Bismarck-Henning School Districts – voters decide Tuesday whether to have a cooperative high school.

And tax hike referendums are popular in many school districts statewide.
