Two drivers were injured Thursday morning in a 3-vehicle accident on Illinois Route 49 in Iroquois County. The injuries were not life-threatening, according to Illinois State Police.
The collision happened just past 9 am at County Road 1850 N.
Police report 23-year-old Justin Sellars of Milford was northbound on Route 49 when he crossed the centerline and side-swiped a southbound pickup truck driven by 52-year-old Mark Pirc of Rockdale (IL). Sellars then collided head-on with a car driven by 33-year-old Britney Martin of Clifton, which was southbound behind the pickup.
Police said the Sellars vehicle then left the road and overturned. Sellars was cited for improper lane usage. Sellars and Martin were taken to to IMH and Riverside hospitals, respectively.
