Two vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Route 1 in Kankakee County injured one driver. 74-year-old Charles Bright of Beloit, WI was taken to an Indiana hospital. His pickup was hit by a unit driven by 21-year-old Rachel Reilly of Geneva (IL) when she failed to yield at County Road 12,000 N. State Police reported Reilly stopped at the intersection but then then failed to see the pickup and pulled into the intersection.

UPDATE: driver injured in Route 54 rollover...

A gasoline spill resulted Tuesday when a tanker ran off Route 54 at Thawville. The driver, 47-year-old David Strubhar of Yates City, was seriously injured. He was extricated and taken to Riverside Hospital in Kankakee.

Illinois State Police and several fire departments and Emergency Management Agency officials responded to the rollover along Route 54. It was at Iroquois County Road 200 E. The road was closed during clean-up operations.
