‘Day of Giving’ supports Veterans Honor Guards

Veterans Honor Guards are lined up to benefit from today’s (Wed) “Day of Giving” in several communities. The ‘Day of Giving’ is organized to help outfit those veterans who serve on honor guards for funerals for the veterans who have served our nation.

A local program invites the public to donate in Watseka. The Big R parking lot along Route 24 East is the setting for the ‘Day of Honor” event.

American Legion Post #23 and the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka have teamed up to host today’s activity. The ‘Day of Giving” finds veterans available to welcome your donations.

The donation site will be manned from 6 am ‘til 7 pm.

In Vermilion County.... ‘Operation Honor Guard’ will be collecting donations at the Sunset Center for Loss and Healing on North Vermilion in Danville, also from 6 am ‘til 7 pm.

Other sites hosting the event are in locations in Georgetown, Champaign, Mattoon and Paris.
