37-year crime victim I.D. in Newton County

A Chicago man is now identified as a homicide victim in Newton County. It’s a 37-year-old case involving a body found on an abandoned farm.  According to the Newton County Coroner’s Office, John Ingram Brandenburg Jr. has been identified.  The body was one of four people found in rural parts of Lake Village in October of 1983. The coroner’s office reports the four victims were drugged and murdered by serial killer Larry Eyler. The study that led to Brandenburg being I.D was the result of investigative work from the DNA Doe Project.
