Police reported  the arrest of a Chicago man after an alleged carjackingh incident in Champaign.  19-year-old Kentrell Spearment is charged with armed robbery, aggravated vehicle hijacking, possession of a stllen vehicle and aggravated unlawful use of weapons.  Bond was set at $500,000.

Illinois State Police stopped Spearment in Ford County after he forced a woman in Champaign to turn over her cellphone and vehicle in a business parking lot. Police said he fled north on I-57 where troopers used to stop-sticks to take him into custody.  Police found a loaded 9 mm gun and ammo inside the stolen vehicle.  N one was injured.
