Nearly 90 parks across the state are getting a share of $28.9 million in grants to support open space land acquisition. Governor J.B. Pritzker’s office announced the grants that will fund projects in 29 different counties.

The program is funded from a percentage of the state’s Real Estate Transfer Tax.

The Kankakee Riverwalk Land Acquisition project is getting $134,000. In Vermilion County, Danville's Historic Ellsworth Park Redevelopment will received $373,900. dollars.
