Loda village president, Dudley, will fulfill term

Ron Dudley now says he'll continue serving as mayor of Loda. He had announced earlier this month he would resign, effective September 1. The News-Gazette reports Dudley had changed his mind, and that a special meeting scheduled for Wednesday to discuss appointing his replacement is no scheduled.

Dudley never submitted a formal letter of resignation, only saying he "didn't like the way things were going; nothing being accomplished." Reports had Dudley "fed up with the village board fighting."

The 66-year-old retired postal worker, said he will serve the remainder of his four-year term. Dudley was elected president in April 2013. Dudley succeeded Carol Arseneau who decided not to seek a third consecutive four-year term.
