The Illinois Department of Agriculture says the pumpkin crop is down this year, but that won't stop any activities in St. Anne where the annual Pumpkin Festival is set for this weekend.
It's 27 years strong. And the fun never goes away.
And this year, the James Bond theme will find seven different Bond vehicles on display. They're featured in the Saturday afternoon parade.
94.1 WGFA is broadcasting 'live' Saturday.
The rain and flooding this summer took a big bite out of the pumpkin harvest. But there's still plenty of 'orange' that light-up St. Anne. A line-up of games, food, carnival rides, and live entertainment is enhanced with the Bond vehicles.
Doug Redenius is one of the founders of the Ian Fleming Foundation, making the movie-famous Bond vehicles available...
The Bond display will include the Neptune Submarine from the film "For Your Eyes Only," Q Boat and Flying Parahawk from "The World Is Not Enough," Pool Boat from "Live And Let Die," the Jaguar from "Die Another Day," the Aston Martin from "The Living Daylights" and the model Goldfinger Jet from "Goldfinger."
"This will be the first time that people can see this many vehicles on display at once," said Fleming Foundation co-founder Doug Redenius.
Pumpkin Festival co-chair Barb Deneau says "the pumpkin crop suffered just like all the other crops." But don't fret, the James Bond theme is making the weekend show a real attraction.
"This year's theme is 'The World of James Bond,'" Deneau said.
Co-Chair Bob Hubert says the small community comes alive for the annual event...
The Pumpkin fest runs Friday through Sunday in downtown St. Anne.
