As the April 2 election draws near, school districts in Iroquois County hope voters will take time to learn the details about a proposed merger between Crescent-Iroquois District #249 and Community School District #9 in Watseka.

A 6 pm meeting this (Wed) evening at the Unit Nine Office in Watseka again invites the public to hear a brief presentation and ask questions. It’s the second such informational meeting leading up to election day.

Last month, about 60 people from both school districts attended a Unit Nine-hosted meeting where questions focused on several issues. Finances and building structures, along with the current and future tax bases for the two districts were explained.
