Illinois State Police had to close down sections of I-57 near Manteno and Peotone last night. Visibility was poor and slick road conditions led to several slide-offs. There’s been no word of serious injury.

Meanwhile – Indiana State Police had similar conditions along I-65. Traffic between U.S. 231 and SR 2 was messed up due to icy roads. Further south, I-65 reopened just before 11 pm.. Traffic lights at I-65 and State Road 25 were still out this morning. Motorists were treating that area as a 4-way stop.

State police worked a semi crash on I-65 that closed traffic in both directions at the State Road 25 exit.
