Schools are closed and businesses are altering schedules due to the extreme weather today. Snow, freezing rain and sleet is making roads treacherous. Motorists bare advised to stay off the roads if possible. Snowplows are doing what they can to keep routes open. Blowing and drifting snow is making travel even more difficult.

River Valley Metro Buses are running regular routes, but some are late because of the weather. Buses are also available for warming centers. RVM is offering FREE bus rides today thru Thursday due to the weather.

Community leaders are urged to make warming centers available too.
