Twelve jurors are in place for the Andrew Condon murder trial in Watseka. Opening statements are expected today in the Iroquois County courtroom of Judge Gordon Lustfeldt.
The jurors selected include seven women and five men. Four more alternate jurors will be selected today from an original pool of nearly 100 citizens.
The 36-year-old Condon has pleaded not guilty to 2-counts of first-degree murder. He's accused of shooting to death 27-year-old jonathan Rubin of Danforth in 2012. Rubin was working as a clerk at a Gilman gas station when he was shot several times.
The trial is expected to last two weeks.
