Interstate 57 traffic was bottled up for several hours Thursday after two semi's collided, spilling debris across the highway and the median. The two drivers were not injured. The mess created a back-up near Peotone from 8 am 'til about 2 pm.
Police said a semi hauling scrap metal was stopped on the shoulder and partially in the right lane when a truck hauling garbage crashed into it.
Police cited the driver who was parked. He was charged with improper stopping on the roadway, improper lane usage and no reflective tape on the rear of the trailer.
