Watseka Unit #9 to host State-of-the-District

The Iroquois County Unit 9 Board of Education extends an invite to the public to attend its 2019 State of the District meeting. This free event will be held at 6 pm on Friday, March 22nd at Watseka Community High School.

Registration begins at 6 pm with informational sessions beginning at 6:30pm.

School administrators and the Board of Education will present information on instruction, technology, facility and safety updates, and the potential consolidation with District 249. The community can learn about things happening at Unit 9 schools along with what the future holds for the district.

District #249 invites public to stakeholders meeting ---

The Crescent-Iroquois District #249 school board is hosting a stakeholders meeting Thursday, March 21. The 6 pm meeting is at the Crescent City Grade School Gym.

It's the last public meeting before the April 2 Election when voters in the #249 district and Watseka Unit #9 will decide on consolidation.

C-I Superintendent Jeffrey Alstadt said questions and answers will be part of the meeting to educate voters on the referendum issue. A presentation will include information about the proposed consolidated-district territory, a financial overview, voting procedures,and a meet & greet of board members.
