Iroquois, Vermilion County record traffic fatalities

A single-vehicle accident early Sunday killed a young Clifton man in Iroquois County. 22-year-old Cody Lehmkuhl was pronounced dead at the scene in Chebanse Township.

Iroquois County Sheriff's Police and Coroner Bill Cheatum are investigating. An autopsy will be completed today (Mon). A passerby reported the accident just before 1 am.

Lehmkuhl was westbound on County Road 3000 N when his vehicle ran into a ditch before hitting a culvert and overturning several times. Lehmkuhl was ejected from the vehicle.

Chebanse Township Fire and Riverside Ambulance answered the call.

In Vermilion County --- it was a motorcycle vs pickup collision that killed a Danville man. 55-year-old Douglas Boggess was pronounced dead about 8:30 pm Saturday on U.S. Route 150.

Coroner Peggy Johnson said the Boggess cycle was hit from behind by the pickup truck driven by 24-year-old Cody Roberts of Homer. The accident occurred near the Vermilion County fairgrounds.
