The Tippecanoe County Coroner has confirmed five fatalities, Jill Buck, AJ Buck, and Branson Buck of Greenwood Indiana, Mikhail Yuryevich Stepanov, a post doctoral student at Purdue University, and Ruslan Pankiv of Lake Zurich Illinois.

All five victims died in the early-Friday morning crash near Lafayette, IN.

One person was treated and released from a hospital nearby.
Indiana State Police said a tanker was traveling too fast when it entered the construction zone near the State Road 43 exit. Sgt. Kim Riley said the tanker hit a car that was pushed into the embankment. The tanker then hit a minivan before rear ending another semi carrying frozen chicken. A fire then started and spread from the tanker to the minivan.

An alternate route was set up. Interstate traffic is flowing again.
