Rantoul Police reported a local man missing has been found safe. Melvin Fox was first reported missing a little before 8 pm Tuesday from his home. Police began a search but we along with Champaign County Sheriff deputies and U of I Police. A State Police air-search was included.

The air unit spotted Fox walking in a large farm field half-mile west of U.S. 45 about 11:30 pm. Fox was found in stable condition and was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana for precautionary reasons.
