A two-alarm fire in Kankakee this (Friday) morning destroyed a building that housed three businesses. Kankakee Fire Chief Damon Schuldt said the warehouse structure on Grinnell Road went up in flames around 5 am .....all three businesses were lost.
Personnel from 20 agencies battled the blaze; some from Will County. The flames were pretty intense.
There were no injuries reported. The building was unoccupied at the time.
A vehicle restoration business, Montoya Customs, was destroyed along with First Corinthians Concrete and Industrial Ultrasonics.
Several antique vehicles parked near the building were damaged. Schuldt said it may be a while before any cause can be determined.
