The Onarga Chamber of Commerce named Onarga Police Chief Doug Brenner the Citizen of the year for 2018. The Chamber annual recognition event at Shagbark Country Club pointed to Brenner’s always-involved attitude and his willingness to go the extra mile for his award.

“Doug is the kind of guy that doesn’t just punch out for the day. When there is work to be done, bad guys to catch, or a safety concern, Doug knows how to handle each situation on the job. He knows the who, what, when and where of our small town. He is truly an amazing guy, who knows how to keep the peace in our small town. Whatever the situation, Doug will bring his knowledge and expertise into it, Lizzio said.
