A 23-year-old Kankakee man is facing 45 yeras to life in prison following his guilty plea (Monday) to first-degree murder. Dequan Morris entered a blind plea in Kankakee Circuit Court. Kevin Wright was shot to death on N. Greenwood Avenue October 17, 2017.  Morris will be sentenced June 27th.

Kankakee County State's Attorney Jim Rowe said he was satisfied with the guilty plea, adding "I'm also very cognizant that Kevin's family will forever be devastated by this montrous act of violence. I pray that Kevin's mom and family and friends can find some peace and justice."
