Eleven-hundred doses of the COVID vaccine was welcome news for people in Ford County last week. The Ford County Public Health Department is partnering with Gibson Area Hospital in getting vaccines administered. The Health Department’s Health Coordinator Megan Reutter says more doses are arriving. She said another 200 doses are expected today (Friday).
County health departments have been slowed of late, vaccination appointments were forced to re-schedule in some areas after the winter storm delayed shipments of the vaccine. Moderna and Pfizer vaccines came in limited numbers.
IMH hosting vaccine clinic today in Watseka --
Three community-based COVID-19 vaccination clinics will welcome Iroquois County residents over the next few days. A clinic today runs from 8 am – 5 pm. Up to 500 doses could be administered. IMH is also hosting clinics next Monday and Tuesday (2/22 and 2/23) for Iroquois County residents in Phase 1B of the State Mass Vaccination Plan.
The Iroquois County Public Health Department reminds people appointments are required. The appointments are reserved for qualifying individuals living in Iroquois County. Clients are required to bring a valid form of photo ID.
