A head-on collision along Illinois Route 1 near Rossville Wednesday evening left both driver dead. The names of the victims haven’t been released pending notification of relatives.

Illinois State Police reported a pick-up truck driven by a 52-year-old man crossed the center line for some unknown reason. The truck struck a minivan being operated by a 59-year-old woman.

Police stated the man driving the pick-up was pronounced dead on the scene. The woman driving the minivan was airlifted and also died at an area hospital.

The crash remains under investigation. It happened about 6:20 pm between Rossvile and Hoopeston at 3870 East Road.
