Jasper County: Indiana man killed at work-site accident

A work-site accident in Jasper County, Indiana (Thursday) left a V eedersburg man dead. 50-year-old Brian Keller was pronounced dead at the scene after he was run over by a front-end loader.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Police responded to a call about a serious accident involving farm machinery near County Road 200 N and 1100 W at Windy Ridge Dairy.

Police reports indicated another worker was operating the (John Deere) front-end loader, removing large bales of straw from two flatbed semi-trucks. The victim (Keller) was walking in the area, wearing ears buds and failed to hear the loader backing toward him. The front-end loader operator failed to see Keller had walked behind him. Keller was struck by the left rear tire, knocking him to the ground. He was then run over.

The JASPER County Coroner’s Office investigated. There was no evidence of impairment observed with the driver of the loader.
