Watseka, IL -- A Thrivent Action Team in Watseka hosted an event to help defray the upfront cost of the fundraiser by purchasing concession food items that was sold at the event and a raffle basket.

The event took place on Friday, April 20th at the Watseka Community High School gym . The U of I wheelchair basketball team entertained the crowd by facing off against different area teams, the KCC Lady Cavaliers, local fire and EMS, and area high school basketball players. Each of those teams played a quarter; the final quarter compiled of the U of I team against each other.

A Thrivent Action Team also supported the Gigi’s Playhouse Brew Ha Ha Fundraiser at the Majestic Theatre in Kankakee.

The Thrivent Action Team volunteers were also busy April 14 in support of the KC-CASA/ISAS Singing for the Stars fundraiser. The event, at the Watseka Theatre, provided financial backing for the fight against sexual assault.
