A weekend crash on US 231 killed a 43-year-old woman. Margaret Kelly of Rensselaer was northbound when her car suddenly drove into the southbound lane and collided with a vehicle driven by Patricia White of Demotte.

Kelly was pronounced dead at Franciscan Hospital in Rensselaer. White was airlifted to an Illinois hospital. Both drivers were the lone occupants in their vehicles.

Sheriff’s Police investigated at County Road 200 N at about 12:35 pm. Indiana State Police and emergency personnel were at the scene.
