It’s a brand new position in Kankakee County government. -- County Administrator. And the job is being filled by soon-to-be former Iroquois County Finance Director Anita Speckman.

Just a day after resigning from her six-year job as finance director in Iroquois County, Speckman was named to the newly-created post of Kankakee County Administrator. She begins the new job April 30th.

Board Chairman Andy Wheeler said “Anita brings a wealth of experience in county government...in financial matters, human resources, IT and zoning.” In Iroquois County, she was also bookkeeper for animal control.
