Ford County is putting more teeth into its wind farm ordinance. One of the main concerns is getting any wind farm-operators to respond quickly to complaints/concerns, according to County Board Chairman Randy Berger.

Keeping everyone concerned updated and having questions answered is what a committee will focus on. Special-Use permits will not be granted unless officials are satisfied with construction progress.

The Ford County Record reports, the county board’s zoning committee met last week to hash out proposed changes to the county’s ordinance regulating wind farms. More discussions are expected at another committee meeting scheduled for 6 pm Monday, April 16.

Noise levels and setback regulations will also be reviewed.
