Several area fire departments were alerted Monday to brush fires.  The dry conditions and high winds prompted a "red flag" alert by the National Weather Service.  The alert continues today (Tuesday) with similiar weather conditions.  Winds have been clocked at over 30 mph.

Brush fires alerted fire personnal in Kankakee, Iroquois, Livingston, Fruncy and Vermilion counties.
