An Iroquois County jury (Thursday) found a Kankakee man 'not guilty' of a 2015 burglary & theft in rural Papineau.
34-year-old Jonathon Williams was charged in the December 2015 case. He was arrested following the burglary at a farm. Williams and two other suspects were accused of stealing goats and a livestock trailer, then leading police and a witness on a chase that ended in Beaverville.
Defense attorney Joe Anthony called Williams to testify that although he was with the two other defendants, he did not participate in the burglary and theft.
The jury deliberated for two hours before returning the "not guilty' verdict.
